Staff Memories
For those of us who were lucky enough to have taught Nailijah, please post a memory or a thought. For those of us who just want to post a thought, please feel free to do so here. Please put your name at the bottom of your post.
I will never forget Nailijah. She touched my heart in so many ways. She lived her life to the fullest and reminded me daily that I should do the same. She didn't do this verbally, but watching her, how could I not get the message. I am so grateful to have the limited amount of time we had together. God has her in His loving hands now. She is an angel. As difficult as it is for me to let her go, she will forever remain in my heart. To her family and friends, I will continue to pray for your comfort.
I remember meeting Nailijah when she first came to our school and I helped transition safely. I admired her work ethics~ she always followed through with her assignments in a timely manner even if she was away! Many times I wished my other students were more like her! LOL Special hugs to Ms. Hodges! She took her job as Nailijah's protector with the greatest of ease and such a sweetness! I bonded to her immediately...Nailijah was her beloved Angel who taught us all how precious life is! We need to be reminded and Nailijah did that for all of us...blessings!
Sometimes in life there are angels among us who touch our lives and leave a lasting impression. Our Nailijah was sweetness and light and despite her challenges she managed to share her positive spirit with all who knew or worked with her. I am sure she is spreading her smiles among the angels now. I send loving thoughts and prayers to her family and to the Ziegler school family who worked so hard to give her a happy and meaningful visit during her short time among us. May the Good Lord comfort you and give you peace!
I met Nailijah before she came to Ziegler, we attended the same church together. When she came to the Ziegler, Nailijah saw me in the hall one day and said "I know you" I said "how" she said "We went to the same church" and gave me the biggest smile. I was fortunate to have been Nailijah's 1 to 1 for her 4th grade year, it was a very unique experience for me. I would always ask Nailijah how she was doing and I would tell her to stay out of trouble just to make her smile. I lost a friend, but heaven gained an angle in the process..I will miss you Nailijah..My heart goes out to Nailijah's entire family..
I had the pleasure of working with Nailijah and saw her daily with other teachers in my classroom. She was a good student and I credit Ms. Hodges for instilling in her a strong work ethic and supporting the school's efforts. Over the years I watched her grow as a student and saw her develop strong relationships with her friends and the staff. Though we don't always understand God's plan, we know that he will provide comfort and peace to see us through difficult times. She has truly touched me and she will not be forgotten. My prayers are with you.
Nailijah taught us all about the strength of the human spirit. She taught us all about determination, living life to the fullest, and looking past limitations. Nailijah accomplished so much in her time with us and will live on in our hearts. Prayers will continue to be with her friends and family during this most difficult time.
Nailijah didn't take life for granted. She lived life to the fullest and showed us what to be thankful for. She was able to experience what teenagers experience. Although she was was taken from us, she taught me not to "sweat the small stuff" in life. Life is too short to worry about what we can't control. Heaven gained an angel this week, but her presence will be felt in the hallways of Ziegler from years to come. Rest in Peace sweet girl! Mrs. Adair
Nalijah came to Ziegler School three years ago. I was her 4th grade teacher. No words could express my emotions when I heard that she passed away! It was a pleasure and an honor to have known her! Ms. Hodges, you will always be in my heart. As always, I am a phone call away! You are the ideal caregiver teachers dreams of. I will always miss my Ms.
I had the pleasure of teaching Nailijah for 2 years. She was strong, lively, interested in the world around her, a motivated student and a caring young girl with strong values. She went through all the teenage stages but kept her sweetness and core values strong. She was a blessing to all who knew her and we will miss her for a long time to come. Mrs. Hodges you were a wonderful parent and a shining example of what beauty a loving home can produce. It was an honor to know both you and Nailijah. You have both touched my heart forever, if you ever need anything please call I am always here.
